ABOUT VIHAN
Vihan Khanna is the author of the book What’s Your Plus? and the founder of Visionaries Film Festival.
In 2015, Vihan became an Eagle Scout which is the highest rank achievable in the Boy Scouts. This is an honor only achieved by 4% of all Boy Scouts. Vihan got involved with the Boy Scouts when he joined as a Cub Scout at the young age of seven. He continues to be involved with Boy Scouts as a scoutmaster of his home troop. He even completed the Wood Badge training which is the highest training offered by the Boy Scouts of America for its adult leaders.
During the summer of 2016, the summer after Vihan’s freshman year of college, he attended a leading entrepreneurship immersion program located in Silicon Valley called Draper University. You can read about his experience in a blog he wrote HERE. Through Draper University, a fellow program participant and Vihan started Vihan’s first startup called AmiLending. AmiLending was a startup aimed at helping immigrants more quickly establish a credit score. Though AmiLending was unsuccessful, Vihan still learned a ton from the experience during the year the AmiLending was alive.
While working on AmiLending and attending college at the same time, Vihan took an online fintech certification course from MIT where he learned about emerging technologies in the fintech space.
In 2019, Vihan started Visionaries Film Festival which is an annual international film festival for student filmmakers and other emerging filmmakers.
In 2020, Vihan published his book What’s Your Plus? A book to help people discover what makes them stand out. It has many great insights for navigating college and making the most of the experience and how to turn a hobby into a business. The book contains stories from many well-known people as well as interviews with lesser-known yet equally or more relatable people.
